You know what drives me crazy? It’s seeing people struggle with the latest fad diet, only to feel frustrated when they can’t sustain it. Or, if they do happen to succeed in the short term, it breaks my heart to see how diminished people feel after gaining back all or more of the weight they lost.
I remember years ago when I was struggling to lose weight. I would start off my day with a new diet, with fresh hope for success and with sincere intentions to stick to whatever the book, guru or fitness magazine said to do –– to the letter.
No matter how good my intentions were, I could never stick to the diet of the week. When I was on the Atkins diet, it would only take one cracker to completely “ruin” my “good” streak. When I was on a juice diet, I would want to chew my arm off at the end of the day because I was so darn hungry. When I tried the 800 calorie diet, by 5pm I was desperate to eat ANYTHING within arm’s reach because I was (literally) starving!
It was madness!
I wasn’t getting anywhere. I wasn’t happy. And I was so hungry!
I knew there had to be a better way.
After years of education, training and a lot of trial and error, I finally started understanding why diets don’t work in the long term. I started to learn that what does work is a new lifestyle –– a good lifestyle. When I figured out the principles of nutritious eating and healthy living, I was finally off the diet roller coaster for good and I knew I wanted to teach the principles that had worked for me to other people. So I started sharing my knowledge with my friends and family and then my clients starting coming to me for weight loss help –– and hey! They were getting results!
I knew then that I had to figure out a way to help even more people.
Over the 25 years I’ve been in the fitness industry, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients to help them achieve their fitness and nutrition goals, ranging from professional athletes to senior citizens. I’ve taught and coached them on the importance of cardiovascular exercise and proper nutrition in order to achieve maximum results. I’ve seen first hand that success begins with a personalized nutrition program that is designed to be maintained and enjoyed. Combined with a fun, yet challenging fitness regimen, clients learn how to get to and maintain their ideal weight and fitness level for a lifetime.
There’s no need to spend huge amounts of money on pre-packaged food –– trust me. You just need to learn the principles and apply them! In my program, I focus on teaching you what you need to know to be healthy for life. By the end of our time together, not only will you have lost your excess weight, but you will have an extensive toolkit of skills and knowledge to maintain your new healthy size long term.
I’ve spent my life learning about the body and the mind – about what works and what really doesn’t. Now, after nearly three decades of professional experience and training in exercise science, fitness and nutrition, I am SO excited to provide a resource that brings it all together in one convenient virtual location for you — The Good Lifestyle.
